Recently we stumbled upon one of the most sexy, provocative websites called www.andrewchristian.com. The eye candy that model all of this amazing underwear, certainly makes this website a must see!
“One of Andrew’s best sellers is his amazing line of technically advanced custom woven men’s underwear. The underwear comes in street, sport, fashion, and basics-themed lines and are available in a range of styles including low cut, super-low-cut, and boxer briefs. Each style is intricately designed using specialized dye treatments, printed graphics and innovative materials such as bamboo fiber, sports mesh, and patented moisture wicking cotton blends. Andrew is the first to introduce Anti-Muffin Top Elastic in his underwear designs, to reduce the appearance of love handles, and Flashback – Butt Lifting Technology. With Flashback one can create the illusion of having that much sought after “bubble butt” without having to waste hours in the gym as the construction of the underwear automatically lifts the buttocks making it look more firm and round. He continues to push the boundaries of underwear fashion by the release of “Almost Naked” the anatomically correct underwear for men and “Show-It” and “Shock Jock” both with front enhancing pouches.”
Andrew Christian isn’t just about underwear, the brand has been making contemporary collections of urban inspired menswear, swimwear, edgy tees, and accessories since it started in 1997.
If that doesn’t sell it, I don’t know what will! Oh yea! these will!!

As I posted a few weeks ago or so, I announced that JRW Beauty was to be doing a project showcasing talent in the Windsor area featuring many photographers, hair dressers and models. Everyone involved had the opportunity to work with Katherine (a contestant on our new show, JRW Beauty’s Next Top Model) as well!
It was a blast! The photo shoot was absolutely spectacular and everybody had so much fun. Although, it was most likely the hottest day in the history of the planet. Therefore, leaving all of us tired and wet at the end of the day. It was worth it, though, as we were all pleased with how the photos had turned out.
I have given all the photographers a week from yesterday (Saturday, August 4th) until Next Saturday, August 11th to submit to me their best pictures so I can show them to you all here on Jrwbeauty.com.
But to satisfy your hunger to see the breath-taking photos, here are a couple little spoilers from behind the scenes!
Tune in to see how Katherine does in the competition, and also to see the beautiful pictures from this shoot next Saturday!
Have you ever wondered what kind of models that certain designers tend to use? Ever thought of which designer would most likely pick you to walk in their show? Fear no more, beauties. I’ve come up with a detailed explanation of different model categories that will determine which kind of runway type of model you are and what overall type of model you are.
In my opinion, there are 6 categories of runway models that designers use in their shows.
Quirk, Blank, Skin, Maison, Beauty and Gaunt.
Each of these types of models correlate with each other to create overall types.
In my opinion, there are 4 overall categories of models. Where you combine two of the 6 runway model categories and create another brand of model. The 4th category is where 3 types are combined.
These are; Type Z, Type Y, Type X and the rare Type W.
Let me break down each Runway type.
Quirk models are people who have defining, distinguishing features that make them stand out on the runway. These models are also people who make their presence known with unique personalities. You’d never think they’d be a model, but as soon as they step onto the runway, they turn on a likeablility factor that automatically makes the guests draw their eyes onto them.

CAN I JUST SAY.
HOW. IN. LOVE.
I. AM.
WITH. THIS. CAMPAIGN.
(Matthew, breathe!)
No words can express how my inner fashion aura is glowing over this 3-D campaign right now. It’s stunning! Not only because it’s a unique marketing twist and a clever branding strategy, it’ll catch the sore eyes of customers who spend their days roaming around the earth hopelessly awaiting visual stimulation.
You don’t even need third dimensional glasses to see the campaign, it looks pretty fascinating as is. But if you’re a diva, like myself, you’re always prepared for the up coming campaign trends set by marketing specialists. Which means, you’ve been carrying 3-D glasses for the past two years awaiting for this day. We’re ready for anything. Obviously.
Feast your eyes, Beauts!
I’m here to lay down the laws of fashion and keep the streets safe of evil fashion-doers and clothing mishaps. So many people are lost in translation when it comes to the world of modelling and if it’s me that has to come across as the diva trying to explain this, then so be it. I can take a few hits.
This is where people’s feelings get hurt. It’s a rough industry because you are dealing with the hearts of young people who have their souls paved on their big dreams of walking the runways in Paris or being photographed by lead photographers all around the world for huge magazine’s like Vogue. Unfortunately, for some, those dreams cannot be realised. It’s the harsh reality that you either don’t have the height, the look, the walk, the figure or the photographic abilities. Really, what it comes down to is Mommy and Daddy’s genes and your genetic/biological fabrication.
In my short career as a stylist, I’ve already come across many teens who, they believe, “are the real deal”. They come in with their nicest dresses/outfits, hair all fixed, make-up done to nines and personality sweating through their pores. As they proceed to show me their ‘book’ with pictures done by their friends with an over priced camera.. that’s when I absolutely shut down from that person and totally lose all interest in them as a potential model.
It’s just what people don’t understand is that when you are a model, you are essentially a clothing rack and nothing else. You are a blank canvas ready to be painted on with the art of clothing. By ‘blank canvas’, I mean, no acne, no straggling hairs, no facial scars, no nothing. When a model is on the runway, nobody is looking at the model, they are admiring the clothing. Publicists, photographers, stylists, designers, make-up artists, journalists, bloggers and all the fashion personas in the world do not give two flying Fendi’s about the model or who they are. All they care about is if the clothing looks good. That’s all.
When people come into a casting with make up done, hair all nice and are all dressed up, I wish I can throw them out a window because I’m not casting for beauty pageants or for actors. I’m looking for people who come in wearing basically a slim shirt where I can see their proportions, slim jeans and heels. Hair loosely done and untouched with no make-up. That’s a person who is ready for a casting. Then I can work with them and give my honest opinion without the superficial looks covering their bodies.
If I do not see any potential, I let them know they do not have what it takes. Sometimes I let them down easy, or if they irritated me from the casting thinking they know everything there is to the modelling world, I tell them straight up. I believe if you’re going to be a professional in this industry, you have to know your strengths, weaknesses and know how to deal with criticism in a positive manner. If a model gets shot down, take what the casting director, designer or stylist says as constructive criticism, not something that was meant to knock you over.
From filming JRW Beauty’s Next Top Model with the team, I learned very quickly who had potential and who hadn’t. I also realised that when we cast for a production, such as this, we must take into consideration who actually has model potential- rather than cast a girl because of their personality like we did for some of the girls. It’s embarrassing and completely unprofessional. I believe a handful of girls in the competition have major photographic abilities that will take them very far in the modelling industry. If we ever do a season two (which would be amazing) I’d be much more strict with casting. I’d grill them on their walks, their photos and their figures. It’d be pure, high fashion girls that are runway ready.
I’ve hoped that you enjoyed my tireless rant. I’m a young professional and I have big dreams for the future and I know I’m not a model, but I know what a model is, and who has what it takes. People’s feelings get hurt, people’s dreams come to life. It’s all on how much you want something that you will work hard to achieve it. There are things that some times are naturally not geared for you and there are some things that are. It’s just finding what you’re good at and soaring to the highest degree that will make you standout so you can make a positive impact on this world.
Vogue has decided to make a stand against the typical model standard portrayed with the media and other fashion/beauty affiliates by banning all “too-skinny” models.
This is a revolutionary and large step forward in the fashion industry. I guess you can really say that being a stick-figure model is no longer on trend! And thank-goodness, really. Now young girls, teens and women can really feel great about themselves when they see a model in a campaign or in a magazine wearing clothing from their favourite brands/designers.
Vogue being such a massive force in the fashion industry, I’m glad it was them who decided to make the first move by plugging away at this once-delicate subject. This way, publicists, magazines and other fashion empires can look at their example and follow suit. It’ll bring forth a much more appealing and desirable change to the visual marketing world of fashion.. instead having young 16 year old girls starving themselves to fit the clothes.
What do you think, beauts? Do you think Vogue is really going to make a major change in the industry by only using healthy models? Or do you think it’s just going to be a progressive change over time, but will revert back to it’s old ways soon or later?
