JRW Beauty decided to do another look a like photo shoot! One of our stunning models, Rebecca Reed, approached us with the idea of recreating the controversial Vanity Fair cover featuring Miley Cyrus. We instantly fell in love with the concept and this is what we came up with. What do you think?

Dead Silence by Joshua R. Waller
Recently inspired by the movie Dead Silence, here is my interpretation of both Billy (the ventriloquist dummy) and Mary Shaw (the Ventriloquist).
Beware the stare of Mary Shaw. She had no children only dolls. And if you see her in your dreams, Be sure to never ever scream.

Asian Expo: Fantasy Makeup Competition
This past weekend I was competing in a Fantasy Makeup Competition for the Asian Expo in Vancouver. It was such an amazing experience; being given a theme (Asian inspired) and then having to create an entire look within 2 hours. Not only did I meet some extremely talented artists and see various styles of makeup, I was able to push myself out of my comfort zone and learn a lot as well. Even though I was not chosen to move on to the next round, I was so happy just to be apart of the competition as it was my first one!
The inspiration for my look first started with a snake; since the look had to be Asian inspired and it being the year of the snake, I thought that was a really cool theme to play off of. So I knew right from the beginning I wanted the shape of the look to be very angular. Then I started doing research to chose my colouring (red, gold and black). I then started to really like the look and idea of a Geisha; their look is so simple but is so striking. Lastly, Lady Gaga became an inspiration for the look which I used in mainly the hair, styling and wardrobe!

The Love Beauty Story
Every editorial has some sort of story, theme or underlying message that the artist(s) is/are trying to portray. Joshua recently created a beauty story simply by using makeup. The main theme was the stages of an unsuccessful love; the lover, the wounded and the heartbroken. The main character was portrayed as an aristocratic women who’s relationship fails.
The Lover: a sophisticated look; classic and simple makeup to represent a women of innocence, wealth and desire.
The Wounded: a sophisticated look that is starting to darken and become corrupted. The black and red ombre lips represent a woman who is going through a heart ache. The golden eyes are starting to deepen as confidence begins to fade.
The Heartbroken: a dark, lifeless look that represents a woman who has tried but has given up on the battle of love. The once ombre lips are now completely black, the once golden eyes are pure black with a gold iridescent. The face becomes severely contoured and has lost all cheek colour.

No No Hair Removal – So Worth it!!!
We all feel the same way, hair removal is definitely everyones least favourite beauty chore. We hate shaving because it takes too long long, it damages our skin and we have to repeat it daily to maintain the perfectly smooth skin men and women want. Professional waxing or laser treatments do last longer, but also more painful and crazy expensive. So we’ve gotten used to the idea that hair removal can never ever be simple.
Can’t there be something that costs less and you can do in the privacy of your own home? Well great news, that happens to be exactly what the No No hair removal system was designed for.
New Makeup Artist for the JRW Beauty London Team!
As many of you may know, I will be moving to Vancouver within the next couple weeks which means I had to find someone who could takeover the makeup artistry department for the JRW Beauty London team. I needed someone who was talented, driven and passionate about their work. It then struck me as to who would be the perfect fit for the team.
I am so excited and proud to introduce the newest addition to the JRW Beauty London team. She has not only been an outstanding coworker and friend, but a mentor who has taught me so much as well! The team gives a warm welcome to Samantha Lynn!
“Hey everyone!
I’m an Ontario-based Makeup Artist who attended Yorkville School of Makeup and Aesthetics in Toronto. I wouldn’t say I specialize in any one form of makeup artistry but I do have a strong passion for theatre and SPFX. I recently took on the role of Beauty Boutique Manager here in London but have also freelanced for both Smashbox Cosmetics and Bourjois Paris.
I have had the pleasure of working with both Joshua and his team in the past. I love the creativity and drive they all have and can’t wait to be a part of the action!”
